Surnames: Bishop, Olds
I have been told that my great great grandmother had Algonquin/Mohican heritage. Unfortunately, my relatives were hesitant to speak of the heritage when they were alive... it was taboo - but they would sparadically share things that were passed down... tracking, stories of our spirit guides and such as the story of my father being very ill as a child and the white doctors told my grandmother to prepare for his passing. He was sent to his great grandmother who, I was told, was the medicine woman and she used her knowledge and cured my father. . How would I track the family line when all I have is an old photo taken around Lee, Massachusetts and the only names I have are "Amos Olds and Nina (pronounced Nine-ah) Bishop". I've traced to New York and the Berkshires - but following the mothers line is difficult. I was told the Native American would be from the Nina Bishop line...
