COLUMBIA, S.C. – Lee Marvin Hughes Jr., died Jan. 20, 2012, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.
He was born Dec. 29, 1950, in Brent, Alabama.
He was the oldest son of Mary Anna and Lee Marvin Hughes Sr.
His father moved the family to Youngstown, Ohio in 1954 because work was available in the steel mills.
Lee was a graduate of East High School. He also worked in the steel mill after high school. Upon its closing, he moved to South Carolina.
Besides his children, Latasha Hughes of South Carolina, Lee Anthony Hughes of Orlando, Fla., and Frederick Allen Lennon of Fort Lewis, Wash., he leaves seven sisters and brothers, Minister Annie Lois Hines of New Castle, Pa., Jimmy Franklin Hughes (Juanita), George Hughes, Floyd Hughes, Patricia Jackson, Shirley Kimbrough (Douglas) and David Hughes, all of Youngstown; one uncle, Leotha Stanley (Ellzola) of Milwaukee, Wis.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son Lewis.
