Classification: Query
Surnames: Tate
Today on Ancestry.com I found the following citation:
Minutes of Commissioner's Court, Bibb County, 1828-1831, page 34.
Tate, William & Wife: Court ordered that there be set out of the County tax, for the year 1830, the sum of six dollars to be appropriated for the use of Wm. Tate & his Wife, and that the Overseer of the poor is authorized to receive & apply same to the use & benefit of Wm. Tate & Wife. Feb. Term of Ct. 1830, Bibb County.

First, is the name correct? I have researched (and descend from) the Samuel Tate who was in Bibb County AL by about 1825 when his son James married and have researched Ezra Tate, who is no relation but was involved with the early court system administration, however I have never seen this William Tate before and can find no other record of him. I moved to Washington state four years ago and have no hands-on way to examine the records there. I cannot find any other record about this William Tate on Ancestry, FamilySearch, or Bibb County online records.
