I found the mathew Hall family from barbour county Alabama on the 1850 census. he had five kids with his wife Althea Barksdale.My maternal great grandparents were Halls and came from Eufuala Alabama, they were mulattoe slaves and left the usa in 1865 for Liberia West Africa. I could not find a Hall family fro Eufuala and there was only one listed in 1850 census which was Mathew Hall so i am assuming they were his freed slaves.
