Which JOHNSON married Melvina BAILEY?
-------
My interest in BAILEY has to do with Sarah Bailey's second marriage to James B. MORRIS. James B. Morris died during the Civil War. In the 1870 census of Butler Co., Sarah Bailey MORRIS lived in the dwelling beside my g-gf Ivey MORRIS in Township 9. Sarah, age 50, was living with Melvina JOHNSON and her four children. I'm trying to determine the relationship, if any, between James B. MORRIS and my g-gf Ivey MORRIS.
----------
Deed Book WW, on pp. 611-614, shows that Sarah MORRIS had moved to Cherokee Co., Texas by Dec. 28, 1880, and appointed John BAILEY as her attorney to handle her property in Butler Co. Names mentioned in this land deed were as follows: Sarah SMITH, wife of John A. SMITH, Panola Co. Texas; M. W. [Macon] and Amanda C. JOHNSON, Tallapoosa Co. Ala.; John H. FIFE, M. A. FIFE; Isaac D. SIMS, M. J. SIMS; J. F. RHODES; H. J. GOODSON; Jacob JOHNSON; S. J. DUKE; M.G. COOPER; John T. BAILEY, C. C. BAILEY; Robert PERRY. I assume some of these are her daughters and their spouses.
