I have found my g-g-grandfather, J. F. McDow, in Cherokee Co. in 1867. He was on a voter registeration there. Does anyone know where I can get more info on him and his family?

I know part of Robert J McDow's line that went to Texas. His father's name was John and his mom's was Kathryn(sp) I believe. I am trying to find if RJM ever served in the military. Thanks!

Charlene, there are two Robert J. McDows in my family tree that I know of. Robert # 1 was 13 in 1829. His siblings were: William C. (16), John F. (14), Temperance (13). Robert J. married Sarah Segars.
Robert J. McDow # 2 was Robert Johnston McDow. His siblings were: Frances Emeline, William Taylor, Marion Radway, Amanda Zenoba (America), Jane A. D.
If either of these are your ancestor I have a little more info on them. I am trying to locate John Floyd McDow born in GA abt 1814, married Mary Ann Elizabeth Townsend. I need to know when and where he died. Last report I have of him is 1870 Blount Co. AL census. Thank you and let me know if I can help you further.

I have no record of Robt. J. having ever served in the services. What I have is school records from Hall County GA in the 1820s and census for the 40s.

I am researching Reddick P. Clements who was born October 20, 1814 in Granville, NC but the family moved to Georgia soon after. It is said that Reddick was raised in Hall Co, GA before moving to Cherokee Co., AL. His wife is Wealthy Grant who was born December 19, 1818 in Hall Countyy, GA. Do you have any school or other records for either of these people? They were married in 1842 in Chatooga, GA

28 April 1820, and his daughter Lucinda Emeline McDow's children are all in Alabama (Sara Emma Walden) and die in Texas
