2. MINNIE FRANCES2 MCINTYRE (BERRY G.1) was born August 17, 1874 in Cherokee County, Alabama, and died September 14, 1958 in Gadsden, Etowah County, Alabama. She married WILLIAM THOMAS TAYLOR, son of S. TAYLOR and ELLEN SMITH. He was born June 25, 1873 in Georgia, and died November 04, 1949 in Glencoe, Etowah County, Alabama.

Her obituary appeared in the Monday September 15, 1958 edition of The Gadsden Times and said:

MRS. MINNIE TAYLOR

Mrs. Minnie Frances Taylor, 84, Glencoe, died yesterday in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, tomorrow at Collier-Butler Chapel, the Rev. W. R. Giddens, the Rev. Pete Furio and the Rev. W. E. Dean officiating. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery.

Active palbearers will be Joe Taylor, James Minton, Ralph Minton, Eugene Minton, Johnny Stephens Jr., Larry Taylor, Clarence Burger, Erston Burger, Pat Burger, Barney Hall and Hurbert Hall.

Honorary palbearers will be I. G. Absher, Melvin Pentecost, Garrett Money, Raymond Cushen, Donald Quinn Sr., Mercer Rowe, Len Keeling, H. H. Truitt, J. J. Duke, Sam McGalthery, A. L. Hollinsworth, Boss Huff, Johnny Williams, O. H. Sims, Arthur Brannon, Fred Brannon, Joe Sikes and all personal friends.

Taylor, Miami, Fla.; two brothers, Cleve McIntyre, Fort Payne and Earnest McIntyre, Piedmont; a sister, Mrs. Mattie Burnham, Atlanta; 24 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Taylor was a native of Cherokee County and a resident of Etowah County most of her life. She was the widow of W. T. Taylor. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

The body will remain at Collier-Butler Chapel through the hour of service.

His obituary appeared in the Saturday November 5, 1949 edition of The Gadsden Times and said;

W. T. TAYLOR dies in Glencoe Friday

W. T. Taylor, 76, of Glencoe, died Friday night at his residence after a lingering illness.

Taylor was a retired farmer and a real estate dealer, and had been a life-long resident of Etowah County, taking part in all civic improvements of the community in which he lived. He was one of the founders of the Glencoe School, and served for a number of years as secretary-treasurer of the board of stewards of the Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Minnie McIntyre Taylor, Glencoe; four sons, N. P. Taylor, East Gadsden, B. M. Taylor, H. N. Taylor, and F. E. Taylor, all of Glencoe; six daughters, Mrs. Stella Minton, Mrs. Eunice Loyd Stephens, Mrs. Alta Hamm, of Glencoe, Mrs. Gratie Hall, Montgomery, Mrs. Grace Burger, Glencoe Route 2, and Mrs. Bernice Mackey, Belle Glades, Fla.; two brothers, Elton Taylor, Gadsden, and Clifford Taylor, Gadsden Route 2; one sister, Mrs. Venie Lankford, Gadsden Route 2; 23 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm at the Glencoe Methodist Church with the Rev. W. R. Giddens, the Rev. Charles Hendrix and the Rev. W. A. Liverman officiating.

Active palbearers will be the following grandsons; Joe Taylor, James Minton, Clarence Burger, Bernard Hall, Johnny Stephens Jr., and Ralph Minton.

Funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 28, 1995 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Stella Mae Minton, 93, Glencoe, who died Wednesday, April 26, 1995. The Revs. John Copeland and Bob Harris will officiate. Burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home is in charge.

Mrs. Minton was a native and lifelong resident of Etowah County. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, C. J. Minton, and son, J. W. Minton.

She is survived by her children, Ralph L. Minton, Mc Allen, Texas, Eugene (Ruth) Minton, Glencoe, John Corbet (Rosa) Minton, Covington, Georgia, Frances Spann, Gadsden, Rev. Harry J. (Helen) Minton, Ashville, Billy Ray (Carol) Minton, Carrolton, Georgia, Ann (Benny) Griffin, Daytona Beach, Florida, Betty (Walter) Franklin, Glencoe, Nina Martha (Dale) Myers, Glencoe, and Virginia (Ronald) Lankford, Glencoe; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters, Grace Burger, Glencoe; Eunice Stephens, Glencoe; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be nurses and staff 4th and 5th floors of Riverview Regional Medical Center, Doctor Torregosa and Professional Sitting Service.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 this evening.

Charlie J. Minton, 64, Glencoe Route 1, died at 9:40 am yesterday at his residence following an illness of 4 1/2 months.

A native an life long resident of Etowah County, Mr. Minton, a farmer, who was a member of Gadsden Baptist Temple.

Surviving are his wife Mrs. Stella Taylor Minton, Glencoe Route1; five daughters, Mrs. Frances Spann, Chicago, Ill., Mrs Ann Griffin, Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Betty Franklin, Mrs. Nena Martha Myers and Mrs. Virginia Pruitt, all of Glencoe; six sons, James W., Ralph L., Eugene C. and John C. Minton, all of Gadsden, the Rev. Harry Minton, Asheville and Billy Ray Minton, North Afrida, Africa; four sisters, Miss Evie Minton, Piedmont, Mrs. Mary Elliott, Wesloco, Texas, Mrs. Annie Coggins, Birmingham, Mrs. Louise McWilliams, Houston, Texas; one brother, Gordon Minton, Houston.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am tomorrow in Collier-Butler Chapel with the Revs. Milford Walker, Jerry Sission, A. B. Farmer and H. G. Murphy officiating.
