Here are my notes regarding Martha (Ann) Hubbard, my Great Grandmother (m. John Albert Britton Nov 15, 1865 in Tallapoosa Co. AL), who was living with a family of another name in the 1860 census.

1850 Coosa County, Coosa District, Alabama, census shows: Hubbard, James, age 23, born SC, farmer,
Elizabeth, age 20, born GA,
Martha, age 5/12, born AL.

1860 Tallapoosa, AL Census p 20,lists Martha A Hubbard age 10, born AL, living with Robert & Mary Richardson. Mary E.(Elizabeth)Gresham Richardson is Martha's real mother having remarried after James Hubbard's death in 1857.

Alabama Marriages, 1800-1920--James Hubbard (1827-1857) married Mary E. (Elizabeth) Gresham, 31 Oct 1848 Chambers.

James Hubbard (1827-1857) died quite young, cause unknown to me; accident, illness,...?
