saw your post on Dixon Stand and the Parker family, have scaned my books and don't find anything on the Parkers.
This is my guess on Dixon Stand, in the early days of
Franklin Co. a Armistaed Barton bought up the land from/
Barton all the way into Mississippi from the Indians he had
a brother in-law William Dickson who built a plantation
abt. a mile west of Cherokee, I found a picture of the
William Dickson house years ago and it had Dixon Al on the/
back, this was a stage coach stop and also a post office.
it's called Chiska now. You can see the house on line
at us gen web project, colbert co. alabama
