Funeral Mass for Samuel Bishop, age 88, of Wickliffe Ohio, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012, at Vineyard Community Church, 1928 E. 300th St., Wickliffe.
Mr. Bishop died Monday, July 2, 2012, at his residence.


Born May 30, 1924, in Greensboro, Alabama, he had lived in Wickliffe for the past 53 years.

Samuel was a former employee of Caterpillar of Mentor, Ohio.
He was a member of the Vineyard Community Church in Wickliffe and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Wilmer (Taylor) Bishop; sons,
Roland (Janet) Bishop, Michael (Linda) Bishop, Samuel R. (Veronica) Bishop; grandchildren, Michael, Jay B., Noah, Rachel Bishop, Rosalyn (Anthony) Morris; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Luther and Roosevelt Bishop, and Marie M. Hillard; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Burial will be at Willoughby Memorial Gardens in Willoughby.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Hospice of the Western Reserve or the Vineyard Community Church Food Pantry.
