Hi,
Richard McMurtry thought you might be able to help me. I am trying to find the link between Thomas Bell that sailed from Belfast Ireland in 1767 arriving in Charleston with my Robert Bell. Richard thought the McMurtrey's owned land next to a Robert Bell and there was a connection between the Bell, McMurtrey and Wilson families. Can you help me? Below is some information on the family.

Robert Bell b 2 Dec 1796 & Nancy Agnes (Hopkins or McMillian?) b 9 Jul 1797

1820 Census - Laurens Co., SC, pg 26, Robert, Nancy, no children, both 16-26
years old.

1830 Federal Census - Coweta Co., GA, page 388, line 15, roll M19_16, image
773.
Robert & Nancy, 30-40 years old

1840 Federal Census, District 2, Coweta Co., GA,page 348, line 7.
Robert & Nancy, 40-50 years old

1848 - Nov 1, purchased land at Ouchita Co., AR

1850 Census, Ouchita Co., Taylor Twp., AR, page 99, lines 16 through 19,
#36/36., Image 379, Roll: M432_28, enumerated 21 Jan 1850.
Robert, 54 yrs, b 1796, SC, Farmer
Nancy, 53 yrs, b 1797, SC

CHILDREN:

James W. Bell b 08 Jan 1821, Laurens District, SC Archibald M. Bell b 13 Jan
1824 SC John M. Bell b 06 Jun 1826 SC Sarah Jane Bell b 10 May 1829 Coweta
Co., GA Mary Elizabeth Bell b 08 Apr 1832 Coweta Co., GA Joseph Pinkney Bell
b 02 Jun 1835 Newman, Coweta Co., GA

After marrying children lived in Ouchita, Columbia and Amity Counties AR and in TX.

I know of two family members each having two daguerotypes, on glass, of
1835-40 vintage of a well dressed lady and man. Behind the picture of the
man is written, " Previn Bell, Greenwood, Abbeville Co., S.C." The matching
daguerotype of the lady, is presumed at this point to be the wife of Previn
Bell.

Thank you,
Carol
