I am looking for ANY information concerning Colonel GIDEON NORTHCUTT, 2nd Regiment Alabama Militia. He lived in Madison County near New Market from 1825 to 1830. He was shot and killed at the Taylor Muster Grounds near Meridianville on October 12, 1830. At the time of his death he was a State Legislature (elect) as a Jacksonian from Madison County.

I am also looking for his grave and the location of the Taylor Muster Grounds. Any information concerning the militia in Madison County, early New Market, or the local politics in 1825-1830 would also be interesting.

GIDEON and his wife MARTHA ALLEN PARSON were originally from Pittslvania County, Virginia.
