I have a picture of a woman named Betty Smith that was the niece of Mamie Smith of Mobile, born abt 1893. Betty lived in Washington State when the portrait was made. Mamie was the daughter of Ralph Smith by his second wife Kate or Katie, but his son John J by the second wife did not have a daughter named Betty, therefore, I believe that Betty was the daughter of Mamie's half brother Samuel. Samuel was born in Mobile AL in 1879, the son of Ralph Smith and Joanna. Joanna was the first wife of Ralph Smith. Joanna's Mother and Father were from Scotland. I would appreciate any information on Joanna, Kate, Samuel or Betty Smith that might be related to Mamie Smith, daughter of Ralph Smith
