Benjamin Nevitt's brother, Kellis Nevitt, was one of the executors of John Morris' will.

Benjamin Nevitt and his family moved to Pickens Co., AL by the 1840 census. He owned land in the southe ast corner of the county. By 1870, the only Nevitts left in the county were African Americans. Benjamin preferred to spell his last name "Nevett."

In the 1850 Pickens Co., AL Census, a Mary Wafford, age 28, and Elisa M. Fant, age 23, Physican, were living with the Nevitts. They were both from South Carolina. Elisa was a nephew of Benjamin's--the son of Elizabeth Nevitt and Valentine D. Fant of Anderson Co., SC.

Alice NEVITT and Clifford P. COHEN had the following child:

Pearl must have been the widowed daughter with the two boys. Does anyone know if these boys had descendents? It would be nice to know that Benjamin Nevitt had some descendents somewhere because his family went through a lot of heartache. Looking forward to hearing from anyone with additional information.

Susan
PS: Benjamin Nevitt's line goes back to the first colony in MD. His ancestor Richard Nevitt came on the Ark and Dove in 1634.
