"Bradbery" WILSON and others in the WILSON family appear in 1840 Pike Co., ALABAMA, not GEORGIA. He was a son of Edward WILSON and his first wife Charity GODWIN of Columbus Co., NC.
Edward WILSON came from Columbus Co. NC to Pike Co. around 1835, made his will in 1837, and died in Pike Co. around 1846. He is found in the census records of Columbus Co. NC in 1830 and 1820 (and probably in 1810 also, as E. WILSON). In 1800 and 1790, he was living in Bladen Co., NC, from part of which Columbus Co. was created between 1800-1810.
Edward WILSON had about eleven children by his first wife Charity GODWIN (da. of David GODWIN), and six or seven known children by his last wife Rebecca (WHITE?), who survived him and married Eli CROSSWELL in 1849.
At least four of Edward's children [Godwin, and Bradberry WILSON, Priscilla (WILSON) CORBETT, and Semantha (WILSON) ROBBINS] came from NC to Montgomery Co. AL in the 1820's, several years before their father came. In the 1830 Montgomery Co. AL census, there are several WILSON's on the same page with Edward's children who are probably close relatives:
David WILSON (b. 1800-1810)
John WILSON (b. 1790-1800)
Alexander WILSON (b. 1800-1810)
James WILSON (b. 1800-1810)
George James WILSON (b. 1810-15)
