I believe you refer to Thomas David Pool Horton, the son of
Theodore Sherrod Horton and Mary Lucena Pool. Sherrod was born in 1817 in Georgia and died August 17, 1863, while at home in Louina, Alabama, from service in the Civil War. His death might be attributed to illness or injury sustained in the War. He served with Company K of the 46th Alabama Infantry. He and his wife apparently had ten children. Mary, sometimes called Lena, was the daughter of David V. T. Pool and his wife, Elizabeth Barnes. D.V.T. was a Methodist Clergyman and school teacher. Theodore Sherrod Horton was the son of Sherrod Horton and Parthenia Sanders. He had at least one sibling, older sister Nancy F. Horton, who was married to Sherman Parrish.
