Classification: Query
Surnames: Browning, Jennings
I am working on the Browning surname in Tallapoosa County, AL. Marion W Browning was the brother of my GGGGrandfather, Robert T Holley Browning. Marion and Robert had a sister by the name of Salina Browning.
Marion Browning and Rachel Jennings Browning are found on the 1860 census, living near Eagle Hill in Tallapoosa County. They have two children, William W and Mary E.
I have seen on a website (did not note site info) that Mary was born May 8, 1860 and died in 1948. Her married name was Adams.
There is a website on Civil War service that indicates a M W Browning served with the 14th Alabama Infantry Regiment Company H. Per that site, M W Browning died in Richmond, VA.
As I indicated, I am researching the Brownings so I don't have much info on the Jennings. I have run across the name quite often in research in Tallapoosa County. If you have any info to share on the Brownings, I would really appreciate it.
