Looking at MOSES GILLEY on 1840 - 1880 Census records - his birthyear is after 1810 and on, or before 1820 in GA. My best guess would be that he was born abt 1814. I saw the grave info in the History of Wash. Co., AL , Vol II book, p 338 for a MOSES GILLEY b. 3-7-1806 and d. 1895. My instinct says this is the same guy and his birthyear was tweeked???
The fella that I am looking at had wife=Mary ["Polly"] and loads of kids - lived in Dale Co., AL in
1840 and then Mobile and Washington counties. Is the grave for the same MOSES??

Son, Frank M. Gilley, lived on O'Sullivan St. in Citronelle from at least 1900 until his death in 1910. I would also love to know who the 3 wives of MOSES' son Frank M. were. I have identified 2: Martha Adeline Walker and Kate C. Yonge, but there is at least one more wife per the 1910 census.

The GILLEY name is in many forms on records: GILLY GILLEY GILLIA GILLIE GILLA...

Thanks,
Sally
