Classification: Query
Surnames: White, Mitchell, Holcomb, Riggens,
I am researching the linege of my family from Keonton, and I am interested in the history of the town. Sanke White(11/1888-07/1979) and Louisana Riggens White (2?/1898-2004) were my great grandparents.
Growing up I remember my grandma telling me she was originally from York AL and her mother was Froney Riggens. They farmed until in the 1960's when the governement started paying large amounts ($15,000 per year) to rural self-sustaining farmers all over Washington County to get them to not to farm. Im also interested in learning more about that program and why they stop the program. They are buried in Keonton.I also found out about a possible brother of Sanke White in Mississippi by the name of Frazier White. I also would love info on Riley Mitchell and his lineage. My grandfather is O.D. Mitchell he married the youngest daughter of Sanke and Mama Lou, Lillian White Mitchell the twin of Leroy White of Birmingham. So if you have info on White, Mitchell, Holcomb, or Riggens you can e-mail me ebonyljordan@yahoo.com

Thank you for your efforts.
