I am looking for info on my great grandfather Sam Knight. All that I know about him is that he moved from Tennessee to Alabama when he was a young man. He changed his last name to Knight while living with a family whose name was Knight. He was apparently a Cherokee Indian. He was married to a girl whose last name was Childers from Georgia(Rockmart or close to Rockmart). They had 2 girls-Winnie(grandmother) and Susie. On the back of the only photo that we have of him states that he was killed when a tree fell on him. After his wife died their daughters went to live with relatives in Alabama(Marshall Co.).
