Montgomery Court Case

I found a court case from Jan 1867 in Montgomery, Alabama and was wondering how I could obtain a transcript. The case involved Thomas Jordan who was accused of stealing mail. The case lasted 3 days and per a newspaper article he had 4 lawyers. One of the defense lawyers was Gov. Watts. The case had drugs, insanity claims and all the makings of a realty TV show. Jordan was sentenced to 21 years he did not serve, surprise. According to the newspaper the defense proved several family members were legally insane, and lucky me they are also my direct line family members. I would love to know who or where to begin to possibly get a transcription or something from this trial. If anyone could steer me in a direction that would be great.

Thank you,
