I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be looking in the East or West area here so I'm posting to both.

My grandfather was from Minnesota and tried to enter the armed forces but due to medical conditions he was not able to. My family says that he was able to join the CB's (some sort of military construction) in the Navy and they stationed him in the Aleutian Islands to work construction and drive truck. This was during WW2.

Does anyone know how I can get records or verification of this?
