I'm not sure if I need West or East here so I'm posting to both.

My grandfather was from Minnesota and tried to join the Military but due to medical conditions he was not able to.
Family says the he was able to join the CB's--some sort of Navy construction unit. They stationed him in the Aleutian Islands to work contruction and drive truck...this was during WW2.

Anyone know where I could get a record of this or verification of it?
