I am researching a Cook family that resided in Dolomi , ketchikan district from about 1899 to at least 1921. RObert Cook was an oil driller who went toAlaska in 1899. In the 1900 census he is in the "Dolomi mining Camp", Ketchikan. I can't find him in the 1910 census. I suspect the census records are missing. In 1920 he is against shown in the Dolomi mining camp as a gold miner. He is with his son Vernon D Cook who is shown as a storekeeper and was working for the Princeton M & M co. The IGI shows a death date for Robert as 13 Aug 1921 and place as death as Ketchikan. Was there an active newspaper that would have reported his obituary? Where should I look for it. This is my first time researching in Alaska records.
