I just came across a reference to this race on a Wade Hampton tourism web site. I am trying to locate information on my Sheppard Ancestors...one of whome was a George Sheppard who is listed in the 1920 census as living in Wade Hampton. Does anyone know if my George Sheppard is the same one refered to in the Snow Machine Race and does anyone have any information on why there is a George Sheppard Snow Machine Race? thanks for any assistance
