Hi Mr.Tallman , my name is Lynne and my greatgranddad was William Sheakley from Mercer co.Pa.Gov.James Sheakley was his younger brother.Their parents were Moses and Susannah Linnber(Limber)Sheakley.I believe they were from Crawford county, Pa.Moses'parents were John Sheakley and Margaret Jenkins Sheakley from Gettysburg. They left G'brg about 1806 and moved to Sheakleyville in Mercer Co.There son George had founded that town.At one time John ran a tavern and distillery.John's parents were Mary or Ann and William Sheakley.Wm was born in No.Ireland in 1720.He emigrated in about 1741 and settled near G'brg. My grandpa, also Wm Sheakley, told Mom, his daughter, that the family were originally from Scotland and were forced into No.Ireland by the English King James the first who needed money so sold off some of Scotland and pushed the people out.More than you wanted to know probably.I never heard of Etta Sheakley yet all those Sheakleys had large families as most did in those days. And, most of their kids made it to adulthood.Lynne
