Dear Mr. Walker,
In regard to your query re: Lydia Ferrin Williams of Graham County, Az, I consulted my copy of "Captain Jonathan Farren Revisited", which is an updated version of "Captain Jonathan Farren of Amesbury, Massachusetts, and Some of His Descendants" which was published in 1941, authors: Frank Meyers Ferrin and Mary A. Brennan.
This info is from page 120 of the "CJFR" book: Lydia Ferrin was born 8 Mar 1852 in Indiantown, Pottawattamie, Iowa. She married George Washington Williams on 13 Sept 1869 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She died 15 Jan 1901.
From page 203: There's apparently a typo error somewhere as it gives his name as George William Williams, born 18 Jan 1845 at Madison Island, Hancock, Illinois, the son of William Washington Williams and Elizabeth Ann Burkett. Lydia Ferrin's parents were Samuel Ferrin and Sally Clotilda Powell Marsh. They had 8 children: George William Williams, born 9 Jan 1871 in Toquerville, UT; Lydia Elizabeth Williams, born 2 Oct 1872 in Eden, UT; Samuel Arville Williams, b. 14 Mar 1874; Sally Clotilda Williams, b. 28 May 1876; Heber Edmunds Williams, b. 31 Aug 1879; Josiah Williams, b. 19 Mar 1882 at Taylor, Navaho Co, Az; Sarah Jane Williams, b.
19 May 1884 at Catron, Luna, NM; and Geneva Williams, b. 29 Jan 1887 at Pima, Graham, Az.
Samuel Ferrin was descended from Capt. Jonathan Farren; I published a history on him in The Ferrin Family Newsletter # 6 and plan to publish a "restored" photo of him in some future FFN, as I hired a portrait artist to retouch the only known photo of him to restore it and she did an excellent job.
If you're descended from Lydia Ferrin Williams, we're distant cousins.
Best regards,
