Lillie, perhaps I can shed some light on your J H W Morris or at least help you rule out some leads.
Franklin County, AR, Marriage Book 1850-1861 Page 204:
This is to certify that I Alan Bussel a Justice of the Peace did on the day of June A.D. 1854 solemnize the rights of matrimony between Whitker[or Whitrer or Whitsen] Morris aged 20 years and Ellen Wilmouth aged 16 years by the consent of her parents at the county of Franklin Arkansas and did then and there declare them to be husband and wife.
Given under my hand this 17th June AD 1854

Lillie, the marriage records abstracts has the date as 1864, but marriage records for that year do not even appear in this book. 1854 is very clear.
BTW, Ellen Wilmouth is Ellender Wilmoth and she had a sister Sarah, but she never married a Morris as far as we know. Ellen was born about 1838 in Tennessee.
I am still unraveling this family, but we did find the census record you mentioned for Whitson Morris in Collin Co., TX, in 1870. The age is a bit off for our Mr. Morris and besides which there was a W.H. Morris indicted for gaming in Franklin County, AR, in 1871. I'm inclined to believe it is Ellen's husband (ex-husband actually) because her brother-in-law John C. Barnes (Margaret Emeline Wilmoth's second husband--Margaret being Ellen Wilmoth Morris Canady's half-sister). Therefore, I'm also inclined to believe the fellow in Collin Co., TX, was not Ellen's ex-husband, although it is entirely possible.
I also found this Morris:
1850 - AR Franklin Co., White Oak Twp. per US Fed Census per ARGenWeb online transcription accessed 5 Jun 2009: D. 126:
Morris, James - 49, M, Farmer, b. Unknown
Wesley G. - 21, M, Laborer, Ark.
Henderson W. - 15, M, Laborer, Ark.
Henderson is the right age to be the Morris that married Ellen Wilmoth. And he is in the right place.
Perhaps you can help me unravel all this. I hope this has helped you.
Linda
