Sunday Serivces for Arthur S. Covington, Baxter County Bulletin dated Thursday September 6, 1962
Arthur Sewell Covington aged 66, a retired farmer died last Friday at his home on U.S Highway 62 southwest of Mountain Home.
Mr Covington was born in Baxter County on May 30, 1896, the son of the late William Joseph Covington and Ellen "Eller" Taylor Covington.
He was a member of the Methodist Church, a Mason and a Veteran of World War 1
Funeral services under direction of Roller Funeral Home, were conducted by Rev. Troy Melton last Sunday at 2:00 P.M. in the Whiteville Baptist Church.
Interment was in the Whiteville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Floyd Tafel, Jack Gregory, J.D. Gray, Orville Tucker, Lewis Knight and Marvin Trammel.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jewell Covington of the home; two daughters, Mrs Ivagene Tucker of Independence Mo. and Mrs. Bessie Lee Byrd of Kansas City Mo.; four grandchildren; five brothers, Don Covington of Borger Tex., Norman Covington of Phillips Tx., Wallace Covington of Bartonville, Ill., Hiram Covington of Granite Okla. and Houston Covington of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and one sister, Mrs. C.A. Hopper of Malvern.
Masonic Rites were held at the Graveside. Honorary Pallbearers were Homer Horn, Isaac Gilliland, Joe Stancil, Clinton Stancil, Boyd Stancil and Walter George.
