Hi everyone! I am writing in hopes to find anyone that has any ties to or knowledge of HENNESSEEs in Lawrence County. I recently found the marriage record of my great grandparents (FINALLY!) and it lists my great grandfather James as being born in Walnut Ridge (Lawrence County), Arkansas in the year 1910. On it it lists his name as: James B HENNESEY but my family name is now spelled Hennessee. I was told that James changed the spelling TO HENNESSEE from HENNESSEY, but the marriage certificate lists it with missing one S. So, I am not really sure which it is but his middle name was Robert as well. It is def his marriage record though because it has my great grandmother and her parents on there correctly. She was Helen Marie Hacker and it says they were married on 23 Dec 1930.
The record lists his parents as G.T. HENNESEY and Myrtle RALSTON. I did find a marriage record for a G.T. HENNESSEE and Myrtle RALSTON in TN (02 Mar 1908). However, when looking in Lawrence County, I found a Charles Thomas (so C.T.) HENNESSEE and a Myrtle living there with 2 children Charley and William and Myrtle's father named Charles ROYALSTON! The children were born before the marriage date I found in TN so I don't know if this is them or not but its a good possibility as it seemed a lot of my family on that side had kids out of wedlock (shocking for those days).
That is really all I have and I am wanting so badly to find out some more information. It is hard because once my grandfather died (who also happens to be named Charles Thomas btw) when my mom was 17, it was about like all his family died with him as his people didn't stay in touch with his kids, etc.
So, if anyone has any information that could help or any ties to my HENNESSEE line I would absolutely love to hear from you! Thank you for your time!
