I am seeking information on the area around Fisher, Ar, Poinsett County. Does anyone know if this was originally inhabited by Native Americans? I have information on a Levi Helms, who supposedly lived around Fisher, who left an Indian reservation to marry Malissa Jane Cox. They lived in Randolph County, AR in later and both died in this county. None of the older relatives have heard of anyone past Levi, so this may very well be a true story, as one of the 80 years olds remember this story from childhood. Levi was born abt 1866, Malissa was born 1874. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated.
