Just to clarify, your John Thomas Taunton (son of Samuel C. Taunton and Ann Redden) was married only once prior to his marriage to Nancy Ann Taylor; his first marriage was to Arianne Elizabeth "Annie" Dopson, and they married on 25 Jan. 1880 in Elmore Co., AL. Annie died around 1901 and is buried in Sweet Home Cemetery in Union Co. (as is John).
The John Taunton who married Victoria Alabama "Bama" Cobb was a different individual, son of Tillman Taunton and Mary "Polly" Brown. This John died before 1890, and widow Victoria Alabama (Cobb) Taunton married again in 1892 to Allen Houser.
