My name is Taylor Myers. William Linton Springston was a great (times however many) uncle to me. My great grandmother was Audrey Belle Springston, i have read in a History of Washington County Book from the Shiloh museum that William Linton Springston was a confederate soldier who was stationed in Fort Smith Arkansas when his wife (Sophronia) rode on a mule 32 miles while pregnant to see her husband before he was stationed somewhere else. This was the last time that she would see him because he was hung by union soldiers three days later. As a result of her 32 mile trip on the back of a mule she delivered her baby prematurely. This supposedly happened on Christmas eve. i thought this information was very interesting. And in the book that i read there were pictures of both william and sophronia. Hope this is something like what you were looking for.
