I am trying to locate a Noah Vandiver that married Margaret Clements- they had a son named Jefferson Vandiver that lived in MO and AR. I am interested in Moses Vandiver and Elizabeth Cravens because they are potential parents of my mysterious Noah. The only written records of Noah existing (that I have found) are that he enlisted in an AR cavalry unit in Pulaski Co, AR during the Civil War and is listed on his daughter's Sarah's death certificate.

Based on what little searching I have done, it doesn't seem likely that Moses' father is Johnston S. son of Ambrose. The dates just don't match up. Ambrose was born in 1789 and Johnston in 1834. Moses had homesteaded in Crawford County by 1845 and other people list him as born around 1800. He very well may be connected to this line, but he was born around the same time as Ambrose. Are there any other possible fathers for Moses?

Thanks,
Natalie
