Hi I'm from CT and I need to obtain a death certificate from Alameda County for my great great grandfather. I guess my question is before I send a check all the way cross country, how many records got destroyed in the earthquake in 1904 and how much trouble would I likely have obtaining a vital record from 1878? Any input would be helpful. Thank you.
