I was told I was the youngest patient (about4 yrs.) at Bret Harte with Asthma, not TB...remember the TB patients in the large ward. Also remembered Dr. Smart and the Martin sisters (Nurses) Eleanor and Connie, who took care of me.
Had to gargle that awful stuff at bedtime! Remember Christmas, the decorated tree and Santa!
After my stay at Bret Harte in the early 40's I moved to the Tanner's Ranch accross thr highway, spent time with Anon Tanner, who taught me how to skin a Rabbit and pluck a chicken, square dance in Murphy's and also attended the school house on the hill by the cemetery. Great memories!
