It is hereby stipulated that the deposition
Of Moses P. Lett, in the above estate, may
Be taken without further notice, before
Thomas Donohue, a Notary Public of Sum-
ner County, State of Kansas.
On the 9th day of April, A.D. 1878 or at
Any day thereafter –and if not comple-
Ted in one day, may be continued from
Day to day thereafter, until completed.
And when so taken the said deposition may
Be used and read on the trial or hearing of
The petition for final distribution in the
Above entitled estates, with the same
Force and effect as if the said witness
was personally present and testified there-
in - It is further stipulated that the Judge
of this Court shall settle the interrogatories
to be put in said deposition, and which are
hereunto attached

Interrogatory to be propounded to
Moses P. Lett, a witness to be sworn
and examined.

1st
Interrogatory
What is your name, age and
Place of residence.

Answer Moses Preston Lett – 38 years
Of age Residence Belle Plain Sumner County
State of Kansas.

2nd Interrogatory
Did you know J.J. Lett and David
Lett in their lifetime if so where and
how long have you known them
and what were their respective ages
Answer I did know them in Missouri
thirty years ago and have been with
and known them since that period have
been with them at various places in
Callifornia and elsewhere. J.J. Lett was
forty eight years of age and David
Lett about forty six years of age as
near as I can recollect.

3rd Interrogatory
Were you acquainted with the Father,
Mother, brothers, and Sisters of the Said
J.J. Lett and David Lett if living where
do they live – if dead, when did they
die, and also State whether any of the
brothers or sisters, if dead left any children,
if so where do they live,
Answer I was acquainted with the Father
and Mother Sisters and Brothers of the said
Deceased J.J. & David Lett FatherÂ’s name
was James Lett , MotherÂ’s name was Sarah Lett,
Brothers John William Lett , Isaac Adams
Lett , Sisters Minna Ann Lett , Nancy
Caroline Lett ,and Louisa Catharine
Lett, also Sarah Jane Lett, James Lett, John
William Lett and Minna Ann Lett died in
Missouri when I was small. I do not
know what the Locality was or the
Town or Post Office. Isaac Adams
Lett and Sarah Lett died in Colusa Co>Co. California Post Office Leesville.
Sarah Jane Lett (now Fitzpatrick) has been
reported to me as having died close to
Lake Michigan in the State of Illinois
and I have always supposed it to be
so as I received the information from
her Step Son. There was not any children
left by either or any of them.

4th Interrogatory
Had the decedents J.J. Lett or David Lett
either been married if so to whom and
If either had been married, did they
have any child or children born to them.
Answer J.J. Lett was Married to one
Anna Johnson. There was one child born
to them which together with the Mother
has since died. David Lett has never
been married.

5th Interrogatory
Has the Said J.J. LETT or David Lett
any brothers or Sisters, Nieces or nephews
now living if so who are they, and where and where do they
reside.
Answer – None to my knowledge.

6th Interrogatory
Were you related to the Said J.J. Lett
and David Lett if so to what extent
and State any other facts within
your knowledge as to the heirs as
Law of the Said J.J. Lett & David Lett,
now deceased.
Answer – I was a Brother to the said J.J.
and David Lett Deceased. I donÂ’t know
of any other facts in relation to the
deceased.
