Barbara M. Reece, a homemaker for 55 years, died Monday at Pittsburg Care Center. She was 74.

The Pittsburg native graduated from Mt. Diablo High School in 1940. She lived in Martinez and Sonora before returning to Pittsburg five years ago. She was a member of the Sonora and Long Bar firemens auxiliaries. She enjoyed crafts, cooking and sewing.

She is survived by her sons, Ronald Reece of Valley Springs and Robert Reece of Antioch; sister, Valerie Wiles of Clear Lake; three grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Her husband of 53 years, Ted Reece, died in 1993.

Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Higgins Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Concord.
