DONALD "DONNI" GENE SWINDLER 1942-2006
Ridgecrest resident Donald "Donnie" Gene Swindler passed away Tuesday Jan. 10, 2006. He was 63.
Visitation will be Saturday Jan. 14 from 8:30 to 10 am at Ridgecrest Mortuary, 437 W. Wilson St. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 am at Ridgecrest Mortuary. The Rev. Robert Watson will officiate.
Donnie was born Nov. 24, 1942 in Lathrop, Mo. He had also lived in New Plymouth, Idaho prior to moving to Ridgecrest in 1998.
He had completed the 10th grade but continued his education on his own.
He was a heavy duty equipment operator and truck driver until his retirement in 2003. Most of all, he was a musician and loved playing his guitar and entertaining folks. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and a fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his father Troy Orus Swindler, stepson Jason Anthony Esquibel and brother-in-law Eddie Antu.
He is survived by his wife Randy Swindler of Ridgecrest, mother Erma Faye Swindler of Lathrop, Mo., brother Kenneth Swindler and wife Betty of Plattsburg, Mo., brother David Swindler and wife Diane of Kansas City, Mo., brother Troy Swindler and wife JoAnne of Mandan, N.D., sister Kathy and husband Zeke Swernamann of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, brothers-in-law Jimmy Antu of Merced, Bobby Antu of Ridgecrest and Steve Antu, sisters-in-law Jesse and K.C. Valencia of Santa Clara, sister-in-law Alice Robbins of LaPine, Ore., son Herb Swindler and wife Stacy of Colorado, son Donnie Swindler Jr. and wife Reyann of Missouri, stepson Victor Esquibel, daughter Dawnita and husband Dean Haueter of Vale, Ore., daughter Melody Dexter of florida, stepdaughter Rena Ochoa, granddaughter Kristina Esquibel and many more grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
