I am looking for info on the Horatio Charles STROUD (married Grace Ann WARREN in TX) family in Kern County, CA. They moved from Texas to CA about 1935, settling in the Bakersfield area.
Children were Orville Garren STROUD, Clarence Leonard STROUD, H.C.STROUD (killed in battle of Iwo Jima in 1945)W.Z STROUD and Winford Elish "Windy" STROUD.
They also raised two nephews, John William HOCK and Neil Riley HOCK.
Orville G. STROUD became a Church of Christ preacher; lived in CA until the 1970's, eventually died in Texas in the mid 1970's. WZ STROUD (my father)became a truck driver and was also a Church of Christ preacher; he died in Texas in 1995.
