Frank Roy Gay was the biological son of Adin I. Johnson. He was born about 1885 in or near Hicksville, Ohio. His family, two sons, Herman and Earl, and a daughter, Minnie, was ready to go west when he was born and with the death of his mother and the father having no means for looking after the newborn son gave him up for adoption by my great uncle, Timothy E. Gay, and his wife, Marie Jane Webster. They raised Frank Roy as their own son. They lived in Stryker and Hicksville, OH, Angola, IN, and Des Moines, IA. Timothy died in Des Moines July 3, 1906 and Marie married Adin I. Johnson in Basin, Big Horn Co., Wyoming on April 4, 1908. Marie died May 21, 1908.
Frank Roy was educated and I believe ordained as a Baptist minister. Earl when he died listed Frank Roy as his heir and gave his address as Los Angeles, CA. I believe Frank continued to live in LA or Los Angeles Co. and may have descendents in the area.
