Frank's first wife was also named Ulrica and she died at the age of 32 on 29 Nov 1895 in Philadelphia. I could not find her maiden name or a record of their marriage. They did have an 8 year old daughter who died in 1896. This info comes from the Philadelphia Inquirer at www.genealogybank.com and Philadelphia vital records at www.familysearch.org (the LDS website.) Ulrica was the mother of Frank's son, John Oscar Sundquist, who was born on 16 Oct 1889 and died on 15 May 1935 at the Los Angeles VA Hospital from tuberculosis; however, his death certificate has his mother listed as unknown. John's marriage record to Lola Lewis in Orange County in 1918 stated that his mother was Ulrica Sundquist. I first thought this was a mistake because his father Frank didn't marry Ulrica Johnson until 1923; now I see that there were two Ulrica's and John was by the first, who Frank married sometime in the 1880s. Confusing, no?

John always stated that he was born in New York (as opposed to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) and the Manhattan, NYC birth index confirms that indeed he was born there on 16 Oct 1889, which agrees with the date of birth given on his death certificate.
