Is it possible that this was here maiden name and Mary Ann (Anna Mary) Liliech, Leilich, Leileich
(various spellings) was her married name (married prior to her marriage with John Swartz?
Birth 18 FEB 1864 in Pennsylvania, USA matches Mary Ann

We are researching my wife's direct line. Her great grandfather was Claude Leroy Blood, son of Ernest Lewis/Leroy Blood and Carrie Hardell. Unfortunately, this is where we have run into a stopping point. We know Carrie is from Iowa and Ernest was born in Illinois. We are specifically trying to determine Ernest's parents. We are also trying to determine his actual middle name. Madera County records show his middle name as Lewis in the marriage record...and Leroy on a birth record...the only other sources we have he is listed merely as 'L'.

Any help would be appreciated...and it would be great to connect with others related to Ernest and Carrie.

Larry Huffman

Hi Kevin,

My Mom originally posted this note here and has since passed on but I've continued her research and am presently actually putting it all online, as time permits. Put in your Grandmother's name on ancestry.com's main search engine (I have her listed under Teressie Edna "Tet" Galeener) and her vitals (b. 1891 Boone Co.,Nebraska; d.1977 Aromas, Monterey Co., CA as we all horribly know too well). Then look for the family tree that simply says Moore Family Tree. Track it back on the Galeener side and you will see in way more detail where you come from. I am a cousin, by the way. Your grandmother's brother was my maternal grandfather Percy Raymond "Jack" Galeener. And if you feel ok with sharing your email on the message boards please feel free to do so and I can email on the weekend. Phone calls aren't so good for me but we can easily connect via email. Oh and I'm still putting the rest of the Galeener surname online but everything I have on your direct line, from my Mom's massive amount of work and now mine, is up on my online tree. Enjoy! Melanie

Otto Julius Iverson, born March 13, 1877 died in Madera County on August 3, 1955 Father surname Olson

Emma Marie Iverson, born December 30, 1894 in Canada, died in Kings County on August 12, 1980. Father's surname Caron, Mothers maiden name Castonguay

They are both buried in Calvary Cemetery in Madera County.

There is also an Alfred J. Iverson, born July 23, 1930, and died February 3, 1956 buried in the same cemetery - I tried to verify he was the son of Otto and Emma, but have not found proof of that yet. He was shot down over Tokyo while serving in the Korean War. There was a brief article that referred to him as Joseph Alfred Iverson
You can see the gravestone's here
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=iv...;

Raymond Otto Iverson, born February 7, 1923 in Massachusetts, died in Madera on February 10, 2009. There was only a brief death notice that did not list any relatives.
Raymond married Alene C. Stephens in Madera County on November 11, 1966. She was also listed as Alene C. Mcalvain. I do not know if they had any children.
I was unable to find any more information about the daughters. I tried to find the family in 1940, but they may have moved to a different area in Madera County. You can only browse the census right now, and not search, as it is not fully indexed. When it is, you will be able to tell if Alfred Iverson was their son.

You might repost your query with the death date for Otto and see if someone local can look for an obit.

I am not related.

I found an obituary for June L. Iverson Gonzales in The Hanford Sentinel. It gave so much information about her family and I hope that I now can get in touch with someone from the family. Alfred that you talked about is probably Otto and Emmas son and he was, due to the obituary, and he was married and maybe thet had children. Without your information I would not have been able to continuing my research.

Laila in Sweden

Here is one possibility for June Iverson. In the 1920 census, her name was listed as Loretta J. R. Iverson

June Laurette Gonzales
born August 17, 1918
Died August 2, 2007 in Hanford, Kings County, California.
This is the same place Emma Iverson died.

I found a brief death notice, but again, it did not list family members.

Hello Julie

My apologies for the delay in a response. I don't recall getting a notification of your original reply back in February or I would have replied sooner.

Your mention of an uncle named Holl, who was killed in action in WW1, was what confirmed for me we were talking about the same family.

I've never found anything that indicated a middle initial for Robert TURNER, but maybe it was William, could be where the name you always heard came from? (Just a possible guess). Alot of times people seem to have have jumped between the different names they were baptized with, doesn't make tracking down ancestors easy sometimes. Your grandfather William was recorded as James William in the 1871 census, then as James in 1881. It wasn't until I found the death notice for William's mother Letitia that I came across him referenced as William M. and his residence which brought me to this posting.

I'm happy to share anything I might have you might be interested in on the your grandfather's parents and siblings and their descendants.
