Jan O'Ward of Terra Linda passed away May 21, 1999. She was the mother of six, grandmother of seven and great-grandmother to one. She was 74. For 23 years Jan worked in the cosmetics department of Emporium at the Northgate mall. A resident of Terra Linda since 1965, she was well known to many for her charitable work and was former Chair of the St. Isabella's Chapter of St. John's Auxiliary.
Jan was the devoted wife of the late Thomas O'Ward for 40 years. She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Mae Schaefer of Parma Heights, Ohio, children Sheri Bowers of Petaluma, Kit Thomas of Santa Venetia, Rory O'Ward of Terra Linda, Colleen Schepps of San Rafael, Jamey O'Ward of Sunnyvale and Sean O'Ward of Petaluma. She is remembered fondly by her grandchildren Kelly O'Ward of San Rafael, Heather Todd of Lakeport, Allyson Bowers of Paris, France,
Taylor and Danielle Schepps of San Rafael, Jordan and Christopher Thomas of Santa Venetia, and great-grandchild McKenna Todd of Lakeport.
A service to honor her memory will be held Wednesday, May 26 at 4:30 p.m. at Saint Isabella Church in Terra Linda. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that donations be sent to American Lung Association, 115 Talbot Ave., Santa Rosa, Ca.
