Richard Irving Miller
Richard Irving Miller died July 14 in Novato. He was 77.
A native of Gary, Ind., Mr. Miller grew up in Los Angeles and was in retail jewelry sales during his career, retiring in 1990.
He served as president of Marin's City of Hope, the Lions Club and B'nai Brith, and volunteered with the Novato Police Department and other public service agencies.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Miller was selected as man of the year by Marin Spirit of Hope in 1995.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Novato; two sons, Mark of San Carlos and Job of Placerville; and three grandchildren, Brett, Jason and Cassidy.
A service is scheduled for 3 p.m. tomorrow at Temple Rodef Sholom, 170 N. San Pedro Road, San Rafael. A reception will follow.
