JEAN MADDEN MERZ
A Resident of Sonoma
Passed away on December 14, 2000 at home in Sonoma. Beloved wife of Frank G. Merz; sister of Gertrude Fuetch, Lucille McDonough, Mary Madden, James Herbert Madden, and the late Marie Enzensberger; mother of Robert J. Merz, Jeffrey G. Merz, Paul F. Merz, Joseph F. Merz, Martin M. Merz, Lisa M. Merz-Mudd, Gertrude Merz Foss, Jane Merz-Keith and Julie Merz-Farr. Grandmother of sixteen and great grandmother of two.
Born and raised in Sausalito. Married in 1947, she raised her family in Marin County. She moved to Siskiyou County in 1970 where she obtained her degree in Library Science from the College of the Siskiyous. The family returned to the Bay Area in 1980 and settled in Sonoma. An active member of St. Leo's Parish, particularly St. Vincent de Paul Society. She loved reading in all its various forms. She made innumerable friends and maintained those friendships all her life. She was a talented artist and enthusiastic collector.
Friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Tuesday, December 19, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Agua Caliente Road, Sonoma. Vigil will be held on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Leo's Church. Private Inurnment. Donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Leo's Church, P.O.
