John Boyle, Miss Jacqueline Lincoln are Married Thursday

John Leonard Boyle, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Boyle of Le Grand, and Miss Jacqueline Lincoln, 18, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis L. Lincoln of Le Grand were married in the study of Our Lady of Mercy church in Merced last night, August 29.

The Catholic service was conducted by Father Silvano Baquebano of the Chowchilla parish. It was a simple service, attended by a group of close friends and members of the families, with Joseph Boyle as best man and Miss
Hope Lincoln as the maid of honor.

Both bride and groom have lived in Le Grand over a dozen years with their families and are well-known in the community. John was graduated from Le Grand union high school in 1935 and Jacqueline was graduated in 1939. He is
custodian and gardener at the high school and she is linotype operator at the Advocate office; both plan to continue their jobs in Le Grand. Following the wedding, a group of about 50 young people, friends of the newlyweds,
were guests at a wedding reception held on the lighted lawn of the F. L. Lincoln home. A lovely wedding cake and punch were served.

Jacqueline Boyle, 85, of Le Grand, died at her home Wednesday, May 7, 2008. “Jackie was recently honored at the Annual Old Timers Reunion, having lived in Merced County over fifty years.
Jacqueline was born June 26, 1922 in Dakota, Illinois and moved to Le Grand with her family in 1930. At the age of twelve, she started working at the Le Grand Advocate Print Shop and began operating the linotype at the age of thirteen, gradually learning all aspects of print shop business until retiring from the Chowchilla News in 1981.
Jackie treasured her friends from the Garden Club and 50+ Club of Le Grand and enjoyed reading to the children at the Elementary school.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John; parents, Elsie and Francis Lincoln and sister, Hope Clendenin Steger.
She is survived by her sister, Dawn Davis and husband Verne of Sonora; daughter, Judy Radovcich and husband Nick of West Hills, California; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two cousins and her nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Plainsburg Cemetery in Le Grand. A Reception will follow in the backyard of her home in Le Grand.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society 470 East Herndon Avenue Ste. 102 Fresno, California 93720 or to Hinds Hospice P.O. Box 763 Merced, California 95341.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.

I have only just been researching this family so am picking up your very old messages. Your feedback does seem very odd. Thomas Crakes first married Mary Moon in St Joseph Indiana in 1849; after she died in 1868 he married her sister Elizabeth (Moon Pickard). Thomas died in St Joseph in 1904 and Elizabeth a few months later in Huntingdon Indiana. No obits to hand yet. Let me know if I can help further. Regards, John

Dana Wells Kenyon, b 2/10/1891 (per WWI Draft Registration), died 9/24/1984 Merced.

Funeral Is Planned For James P. Henry

Funeral services will be held in the Sovern Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock for James P. Henry, 81, of Turlock, who died in a hospital here last week.

Rev. W. R. Baird of the First Christian Church will officiate. Interment will be in the Masonic Cemetery.

Henry, a resident of the Turlock district for sixteen years, was the stepfather of Harry Hicks of Brentwood.

Sense he's buried in the Hilmar cemetery his obituary will probably be in the Turlock Journal. The Turlock Library has the newspaper on micro-film.

Phyllis Ann Stinson, 79, of Hilmar died Friday at Mercy Medical Center Merced, Dominican Campus.

Mrs. Stinson was a native of Selma. She moved to Merced County at age 10 and settled in Hilmar, where she lived for many years. She and her husband owned a dairy until 1968, then managed a bar in Hilmar until 1980. She was a member of the Turlock Eagles Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Elaine Stinson of Wisconsin, Phyllis Hite of Florida, Delores Senior of Hilmar, Claudette Koblin of Arizona and Theodore Stinson of Modesto; and 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Private services and burial. Allen Mortuary, Turlock, in charge of arrangements.

Remembrances may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1524 McHenry Ave., Suite 210, Modesto 95350.

Ernest Fosse, Retired School Maintenance Grounds Supervisor. Ernest Fosse an Atwater resident for the past 18 years passed away Thursday August 14, 2003 . He was 88 years old. Mr. Fosse was born April 15, 1915 in Sharon, North Dakota. He served in the U. S. Army in World War II. Before moving to Atwater he lived in Dos Palos and farmed. Later he worked at Dos Palos Elementary School as School Maintenance and Grounds Supervisor for 24 years. He retired in 1976. He was past Master of Dos Palos Masonic Lodge and Last Patron twice of Dos Palos chapter Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the Los Banos Elks #2510 and the bay area National Camping Travelers a Masonic Camping group. Mr. Fosse enjoyed camping, gardening, traveling, his five grandchildren, the Giants baseball team and the 49er’s football team. He was also involved with Little League Baseball and Boy Scouts of America.

He is survived by his two sons, Richard Fosse of Tollhouse and Thomas Fosse of Madera; five grandchildren, five nieces and one nephew, and 2 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the WILSON FAMILY FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1290 Winton Way, Atwater on Sept. 20th at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella, CA . Memorials can be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital of Sacramento or to a favorite charity.

Hi:
Just asked my cousin who has ancestry.com to look and see with the 1910, 20, 30 census records. No children listed with them at those times.
My guess would be that indeed he did re-marry.
Now how to look and see if he indeed do that, and to
whom?
Any ideas? I would have to wait till later tonight to
ask my cousin to help here. She just left for work.

I do not know...So far this branch has had the most curves and forks in their road, just like the other one which mentions a step-son Harry Hicks? I didn't know that Viana was married to a Hicks...Only one other marriage to a Ailes or Ayles...I just do not know...

Viana b: abt 1855 MI.
Died in Merced between 11/1928--6/1931
She is listed in Book #8, pg. 458
But I cannot find anything on her husband, James P. Henry.
I looked it up, and if it was correct, appears they lived on W. 16th St.
Any and all help appreciated.

Relatives of Ernest Fosse

I am looking for relatives of Ernest Fosse. He was born in Sharon, N.D. in 1915 and died in Atwater in 2003. He lived in Dos Palos and farmed there before moving to Atwater. He is survived by two sons, Richard Fosse of Tollhouse and Thomas Fosse of Madera. His father was Haakon Fosse and his mother was Anna Kloster. Anna was my grandfather's sister. I have been researching the Kloster family for the last fifteen years and would appreciate any members of his family to contact me at (rakloster@netzero.net).

i am trying to find info on william booker, he passed in 1957 i believe in gustine. My aunt said he was buried at a place called erwin, outside of hilmar. i went and checked a small cemetery there but could not find him. bill was born in indiana. Any info would be appreciated. thank you
