Albert is the "bad" info in the 1880 census. The census taker assumed that Cecil Bertrand, the eldest child of Mary (Mamie) and Solomon was actually named Albert. The reason for this is that Cecil as a young child was called "Bert" from his middle name. Do not confuse this with Cecil Bertrand Burkham,I and Josephine Seiler Burkham's son Cecil Bertrand Burkham, II. He was called Bert his whole life. Also, the age of Cecil Bertrand Burkham,I in the 1880 census is wrong...he was 1 not 11. The 5th child of Solomon and Mamie is an unknown. We as a family always thought that this was a stillborn or mistaken in the census. No one was ever told of a 5th child and there are no graves in Bodie for this supposed 5th child. Mary was born in 1860 and did not have a child in 1868! Ahh, the mistakes that are in the censuses. They are only part of the research as we all know. Hope this information helps.
