Hello -

A cousin and I are trying to track down an ancestor who may or may not have resided and/or passed away in Salinas or the surrounding area. On Ancestry.com, I found a Salinas and environs Polk's City Directory, 1941, entry for a Bert W. Ogden living at 1135 Pacific Ave., Salinas Rural Route 2 (at the time.) We are not sure if that is our Bert (given name: Gilbert) W. Ogden or not. If anyone has information about this Bert Ogden, please contact me so my cousin & I can sort it out. Thank you.

Jean, St. Louis area, Missouri (and for my cousin, Trevor)

P.S. Our Gilbert Walter Ogden was born in Waupaca County, Wisconsin in 1867, but may have "fudged" on his age as he grew older (50 years old and beyond.) He lived in San Francisco at one time (last known record for that is from the 1930 census.) He had 4 sons whom we know of: Carroll Frank Ogden, Albert Priest Ogden, John Ogden, and Ivan Ogden. His father was Judge Caleb S. Ogden, Waupaca, Waupaca County, Wisconsin. After 1914, he inherited a sizeable amount from a paternal uncle, Francis (Frank) A. Ogden of Houston, Texas.
