My late father's half-brother, who he never knew existed, died at the Napa State Hospital, Imola on January 9, 1970. His name was William HOFFMAN.

I am hoping some kind soul who has access to newspaper microfilm archives from that time could do a lookup for me in hopes of finding an obituary or death notice.

Also, for anyone familiar with the availability of records from such an institution, is there a way I could get more info on his records from the hospital or state?

He was listed as divorced on his death certificate and no next of kin were listed. HOFFMAN was the name he went by and was his mother's maiden name. His birth name also listed on the death certificate was LAUBENSTINE so an obit or death notice might be under either name.
